Spotlight on Laura Moir

Tell us about Laura

I was brought up and studied in Aberdeen, Scotland and have lived in the area for most of my life, with a couple of years based in Edinburgh and Canada. I recently achieved a personal goal of moving into my converted farmhouse in rural Aberdeenshire. Coming from a country family, I love being away from the city and spending time outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle.

I share my house with three French Bulldogs and a lot of time is spent chasing them round the fields rain or shine. I also love to spend time with my family, in particular my niece Kitty who, at 7 years old, is a barrel of fun. We both share a love of wildlife and animals, and our favourite day out is at the local farm zoo, where we can spend time feeding the baby lambs.

Why did you join Stepwise?

Moving offshore operations towards Net Zero targets is not an easy one, nor a well-trodden path, so the opportunity to work with the team of experts Stepwise has, and support them and their clients to continuously improve the product and service offering resonated very well. 

Our industry is being dragged through the mud, and the public have little idea of the hard work being done to reduce emissions. However, they struggle with standardising the quality of data held, reporting and showcasing the results of positive steps being taken. That’s where we step in. 

I love developing people in terms of confidence, skills and competence, and I was at a time in my life when I wanted to combine my experience, push my own boundaries and be part of something that will make a real difference to the environment.

What’s your focus in Stepwise?

As Head of Customer Success, I ensure our clients, old and new, gain the maximum value from our platform and people. Listening to our existing and new clients is my priority to ensure we develop and deliver a product that is exactly what they need and want while supporting local regulatory requirements.  I will be leading our global customer success strategy, leading and mentoring our customer success and project management teams to grow our collaboration with our clients, including operators, drilling contractors, FPSO owners, and operators.
