Job description

The ideal candidates will have a blend of technical expertise, project management experience, and a strong client-facing presence. You will need to possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree and have at least 10 years of relevant engineering and technical work experience in several of the following sectors:

  • Offshore platforms
  • Offshore production (FPSOs)
  • Offshore intervention vessels
  • Land based drilling

Key responsibilities include:

  • Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients worldwide to provide data insights and guidance for energy reduction initiatives
  • Project Management: Oversee Stepwise and client relationships, managing projects from inception to completion
  • Energy Management: Evaluate data from units, identify potential savings, and assess their impact on operating systems
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, developers, and designers to develop innovative solutions
  • Industry Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise in industrial decarbonization, staying updated on the latest trends and technologies

To be successful in this position, you should have a deep understanding of the energy market, technology, and the green transition. You should also be experienced with SaaS software development, design thinking, and agile methodologies.

General duties

  • Work directly with our clients, providing periodic insight reports
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the development team on decarbonization technologies and their application in the energy sector
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to develop software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers
  • Research and stay up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in decarbonization technologies, as well as industry regulations and standards
  • Conduct customer outreach and engagement to gather feedback on product offerings and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to raise awareness of the company’s products and services

Required skills

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree relevant to the energy sector.
  • Industry Experience: At least 10 years of experience in engineering and technical roles, preferably within offshore platforms, offshore production (FPSOs), offshore intervention vessels, or land-based drilling
  • Project Management: Proven experience managing projects through all stages, with international management and sales experience being beneficial
  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on knowledge of various vessels, including Semi-submersibles, Jack-ups, RLWI, AHTS, and MPSVs. STCW certification is a plus
  • Client-Facing Skills: Ability to interact effectively with clients, providing strategic insights and managing relationships
  • Energy Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of the energy market, technology, and the green transition
  • Agile and SaaS Experience: Familiarity with SaaS software development, design thinking, and agile methodologies, with certification in Agile being a plus
  • Technical Tools: Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with Atlassian's tools such as Confluence and Jira
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with ever-changing situations and able to think quickly on your feet
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Norwegian
  • Cultural Fit: Alignment with Stepwise’s vision, mission, and values
