Tell us about Thomas

Hello! My name is Thomas, and I’m a proud “Sørlending” from the beautiful south of Norway. I live in Grimstad with my wife, Anika, and our two youngest sons, Ludvig and Sigurd. Our eldest daughter, Oline, recently moved to Oslo to start her studies, but we make sure to catch up with her whenever possible.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family. We have special retreats to unwind—whether it’s at our cabin in Hovden during winter, our summer spot in Mandal, or our old farm near Marnardal. Maintaining these retreats has sparked my passion for DIY projects, especially renovations, which offer a creative escape from my workday.

I’ve been active in our local football club for a decade and currently coach my youngest son’s team. I enjoy helping kids develop skills, reach goals, and grow as individuals. Football is about more than the game; it’s about teamwork, resilience, and building character, and I’m proud to be part of that journey.

Why did you join Stepwise?

Throughout my career, I’ve been focused on technology, and over the last decade, I’ve held various leadership roles with a strong emphasis on digitalisation in the oil and gas industry. I’ve seen the power of technology to drive efficiency and improve operations, but I’ve also recognised the significant challenges around sustainability and the lack of a strong environmental focus in our industry.

As the world increasingly turns its attention to climate change and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions, I became more motivated to play a role in driving positive environmental change. This is where Stepwise came into the picture. The company’s mission to support carbon emission reduction through innovative digital solutions really resonated with me. Joining Stepwise allows me to align my passion for technology with my commitment to sustainability.

On a broader scale, I see digitalisation as a key enabler in the fight against climate change, and I’m excited and proud to contribute to Stepwise’s work in helping organisations adopt sustainable practices while still achieving their business goals.

What’s your focus in Stepwise?

I am passionate about the intersection of people and technology—working with teams, guiding them toward shared objectives, and leveraging technology to enable success. At Stepwise, I focus on overseeing daily operations and ensuring our projects run smoothly while meeting customer goals.

My role includes managing activities across projects, aligning and motivating teams, and equipping them to deliver impactful solutions. I collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to understand their needs, ensuring our digital solutions drive measurable results.

By leveraging technology, I aim to create an environment where both our team and clients achieve their goals effectively. From optimising processes to fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless implementation, my goal is to unite people and technology to deliver lasting value for Stepwise and its clients.
