Spotlight on Sølve Solheim

Tell us about Sølve

I'm 45 and live in Kristiansand, the smiling summer city in southern Norway. My wife and I enjoy a fast-paced family life with our three beautiful and active girls. When the opportunity arises, we put on our running shoes and go for a run in the nearby woods.

A Commodore 64 with a cassette deck sparked my interest in computers and programming at a young age, and I've been a tech-head ever since. As a software programmer, I've been able to gain experience in many different industries, always trying to adopt best practices and lessons learned. In recent years, I've been able to combine technology development with project and team management as well as business development.

I consider myself very lucky that I can have my hobby as my profession.

Why did you join Stepwise?

I received a phone call from my former colleague at Cameron, Njål Aarsland. When leaving Cameron 4 years ago, I told Njål that he should contact me if he encountered an exciting new opportunity. Learning about Stepwise and its mission really resonated with me. I've previously had the joyful experience of evolving startups to scale-ups, and Stepwise ticks all the boxes to be successful: the mission, the timing, the passion, the competency, and team diversity. So luckily, I was able to join the team this summer and be part of the journey.

What's your focus in Stepwise?

At Stepwise, I'm able to utilize my full skill set, be it programming, cloud infrastructure, IT security, cost management, or IT compliance.
My main objective in the near future is to contribute to an even more scalable, secure, and efficient software platform catering to the future needs of Stepwise customers.
